So yeay! Lilia is now rolling to her tummy. Now I can't just set her down on the floor or bed and hope she stays there. She's all over the place rolling around and taking another step (or roll, haha) towards crawling, walking, driving... So every day we keep practicing tummy time and she'll show me how she rolls over and one time she even grabbed her playmat and wrapped it around ending up in a cute baby burrito with feet. She is such a dork.
Lilia also had another first last week although this one wasn't so great. I gave her her first cold. I went to the gym one day and when I came back I had a sore throat. Two days later Lilia is snuffling around the house and when she looks up at me with those water-filled eyes and snot-covered nose I feel so guilty. She smiled through it all and breathed through her mouth for a couple days and now she's all better. My little trooper!
Onto other people in our family...Quique's birthday was yesterday!! He turned 31 years old. Here in Spain the custom is that the birthday person buys the drinks/food for their friends so when he went to work yesterday he made sure only two coworkers knew it was his birthday! I told him he was also American and should use that to his advantage and have people buy HIM the drinks. I spent the day shopping at the grocery store for his birthday dinner...err dessert. That night I surprised him with red velvet cake with homemade cream cheese frosting and chocolate covered strawberries. For dinner we had...boxed lasagna! It's a good thing too because Lilia was crying up a storm while I was trying to make the cake. Afterwards my family sang happy birthday to Quique over the phone. All in all I think it was a great day for him despite the fact that he is now 31 and I'm still only 25. haha in yo face, old man!
I'm still plugging away at the gym although I made an awful realization the other day: in order to really tone up I am actually going to have to use the machines. I wanted to join the gym to take classes so that I would be forced to work hard instead of wimping out the second I sweat. Right now I'm sticking with Latin Dance aerobics and abs, but after taking the classes for a little over a week I'm lamenting the fact that I will have to do the machines to achieve my goal. I dislike machines because I never feel like I know what I'm doing. Add to that the fact that it's all in Spanish and well I'll let you know how it goes. I am so not looking forward to that. Aunt Kathy, any tips?
In other news I am on the verge of buying my tickets to the U.S. for the summer. Quique is going to be in a wedding in New York on September 18 so we're going to stay for at least that long if not a little longer. Since I'm going to Atlanta at the end of June I will be there for a LONG time and I am really looking forward to it. I can't wait to see all of you and for you to get to meet Lilia.
Well it's time to start our bedtime routine for Lilia even though I feel like I need to go to sleep now too. She's slept through the night the past two nights so keep your fingers crossed that she does that...well, forever.
Here's a video of Lilia after I gave her baby Orajel. The face is hilarious.
Dress that Great Grandma gave her. :)
